Job summary

Safety National seeks an Accountant I, Reinsurance to support accurate and timely reinsurance accounting and financial reporting. You will handle cash postings, adjustments, and payments while collaborating with a seasoned team in a dynamic environment.

You will reconcile ledgers and bank accounts, assist with month-end closes, and help prepare financial statements. The role offers hybrid work in St. Louis with growth opportunities in insurance and reinsurance operations.

Qualifications

• Coursework or professional experience in accounting.
• Excellent organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Dependable, motivated, and adaptable with the ability to maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and Outlook.
• Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Hybrid work schedule with a minimum of 3 days per week in our St. Louis Corporate Office at 1832 Schuetz Rd.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accounting functions within reinsurance systems and post cash transactions.
• Prepare premium and claims adjustments; process reinsurance payments and wire transfers.
• Reconcile general ledger, escrow, and bank accounts; assist with month-end closing.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; support audits.
