Job summary

Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, IL, is seeking a front desk coordinator for SCMG Progressive Surgical Associates. You will schedule surgical procedures, answer and triage calls, greet and check-in patients, and serve as a liaison between patients and medical staff.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent, healthcare experience, familiarity with medical terminology, and strong computer skills with MS Office and electronic medical record systems.

Qualifications

• Two years of healthcare experience or related experience preferred.
• Experience with scheduling and prior authorizations a plus.
• Knowledge of medical terminology helpful.
• Proficiency with MS Office and EMR systems desired.

Summary: Works with providers, staff, patients, referring physicians and insurance companies to obtain the appropriate referrals and prior authorizations for necessary treatment for the patient. Performs allscheduling of surgical procedures;answering, directing and prioritizing telephone calls appropriately; effective communication; and clerical duties as assigned. Greets, instructs, directs, schedules, registers, and performs check-in duties for patients. Serves as a liaison between patients and medical support staff. Establish and maintain a positive attitude with patients, visitors, and fellow employees by helping each other in areas when needed. Demonstrates knowledge of the age-specific competencies and the skills necessary to provide services appropriate to the age and demographic served.

Qualifications : High School Diploma or equivalent. Two years of healthcare experience or other related experience preferred. Experience working with providers and insurance companies to receive prior authorization.Candidates with previous scheduling experience strongly preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology and surgical procedures strongly preferred. Must have excellent computer skills and the ability to multi-task. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Prefer 3 years work experience, preferably in medical office setting or hospital. Microsoft Office experience such as Outlook, Word, Excel; preferably experience on an electronic medical record.

$17.99 - $22.48
