Job summary

Lewis County Hospital District No. 1 is seeking a Scheduler in the Rehabilitation Services Department. The role involves scheduling patient appointments, providing pre-registration instructions, and verifying insurance information to ensure accurate scheduling.

The scheduler will handle chart management, billing reconciliation, and support for other clerical duties. Strong people skills, confidentiality, and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Medical terminology knowledge preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification or obtained within 30 days of hire through AHA or equivalent organization.

Responsibilities

• Answers telephone calls into the Rehabilitation Services Department and transfers calls as appropriate.
• Verifies billing information and understands Medicaid/Medicare guidelines.
• Documents no shows/cancellations in patient charts and reschedules missed appointments.
• Covers other front office functions as requested by the Manager.
• Schedules procedures accurately according to department resources and patient needs.
• Maintains department schedules, vacation/holiday coverage, and sends appointment cards to patients.
