Job summary

Haywood Regional Medical Center in Clyde, NC, is seeking a Front Desk Representative for the Rehab Clinic. You will greet patients, register data, verify eligibility, and coordinate scheduling and communications with clinical staff.

You will ensure smooth front-office operations in a high-volume outpatient setting, maintain confidentiality, and provide friendly, professional service to patients and visitors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional clerical experience may substitute for education.
• Prefer a minimum of two years of clerical or administrative experience in a healthcare or office setting.
• Strong critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills, basic math, and computer literacy.
• Coding experience preferred.
• Strong customer service skills and a service-oriented personality with multitasking ability.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage day-to-day activities in the front office of the Rehab Services Department.
• Receive, screen, and route visitors and telephone calls, respond to inquiries, escalate as needed.
• Register patients, verify data, assist with forms; obtain and update demographic, billing, and third-party information.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting patients, families, and visitors warmly and professionally.
• Maintain files, office equipment, and departmental records with attention to detail.
• Coordinate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient operations.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and hospital policies; assist with scheduling and reminders.
