Rehab Clinic Receptionist

The Rehab Department Receptionist performs clerical, cleaning, and maintenance activities as necessary for the smooth day-to-day operation of the Rehab Department.

The responsibilities include routine office tasks such as scheduling appointments, making and receiving phone calls, obtaining insurance authorization, registering patients, ordering supplies, and preparing charts.

The Receptionist also serves as a public relations contact, as they are often the first point of contact for patients and visitors.

Qualifications
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Training/Experience: Preferred previous experience in a medical office setting.
  • Job Knowledge: Computer experience with Microsoft Office preferred; ability to type efficiently.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Effective communication:
    • Verbal, written, and phone communication skills.
    • Courteous and polite interactions with staff, patients, and visitors.
    • Accurate message taking and relaying.
    • Scheduling outpatient appointments in a pleasant and efficient manner.
  2. Record Maintenance:
    • Maintaining departmental records accurately and efficiently.
    • Communicating with insurance companies regarding treatment authorization.
    • Ordering supplies.
  3. Department Maintenance:
    • Keeping the department neat and orderly, including cleaning equipment and work areas not handled by Housekeeping.
    • Routine inventory management, requisitioning, and distribution of supplies.
    • Ensuring equipment and supplies are ready for use.

  • Hourly Wage: $15.60 - $19.50 per hour (depends on experience)
