Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Risk Specialist I to drive regulated waste compliance across multiple sites in California. You will implement environmental plans, perform site inspections, maintain hazardous waste records, and ensure conformance with RCRA, DOT, and state rules.

Strong data skills and stakeholder communication are essential. You will collaborate with site teams, operations, and legal partners to close gaps, develop SOPs, and track milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) or related field.
• 2+ years in environmental compliance, regulated waste management, or workplace risk investigations.
• Experience interpreting environmental regulations (RCRA, DOT, and applicable state hazardous waste rules).

Responsibilities

• Own the execution and delivery of regulated waste compliance projects and activities, including developing standard operating procedures, workflows, and inspection routines, to mitigate identified risks across the sites you support.
• Apply risk management methods such as waste compliance audits and site inspections to monitor compliance thresholds, test controls, and take corrective action when findings arise.
• Collaborate with site teams, compliance operations, and operations partners to understand business needs, clarify waste compliance requirements, and drive productive discussions that build consensus.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and work with process owners to improve conformance, reduce risk, and increase operational efficiency.
• Prepare clear and concise documentation, including status reports, audit results, metrics, and project communications, so the right information reaches the right audience at the right time.
