Responsibilities
  • Patient Registration: Register patients accurately and efficiently.
  • Insurance Verification: Verify insurance benefits and pre-certifications.
  • Demographic Verification: Ensure all patient demographic information is up to date.
  • Payment Handling: Collect and post payments, and assist with financial assistance applications as needed.
  • Customer Service: Maintain a customer-centric approach when dealing with all types of patients, both internal and external.
  • Communication: Provide clear and effective communication with patients and medical staff.
Administrative Duties

Manage multiple tasks in an organized manner, complete required documentation, and follow up on outstanding issues

Qualifications
  • Education and Experience:
    • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Understanding of medical terminology.
  • Two years of experience in a medical-related field preferred.

  • Skills:
    • Strong verbal communication skills.

  • Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

    • Physical requirements include:
      • Stooping: Bending the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist.
      • Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending the legs and the spine.
      • Standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods.
      • Medium physical effort required, including lifting up to 40 pounds and frequently carrying objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Sensory Requirements:
    • Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; able to read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language.
    • Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sound by ear.
    • Vision: Acuity at 20 feet or more (far vision) and 20 inches or less (near vision).
  • Mental Requirements:
    • Ability to perform effectively in frequent stressful situations.
  • Exposure to Hazards:
    • Possible exposure to chemicals, infectious, electrical, and fire hazards.
    • Exposure to blood and body fluids requiring Biohazard protection.
