Job summary

Ascension’s Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart in Pensacola, FL is seeking a Respiratory Care professional for the Pediatric department. This night shift, full-time role involves evaluating and treating pediatric patients, coordinating care plans, and ensuring effective respiratory support.

The position requires Florida licensure as a Respiratory Therapist, BLS, and pediatric experience. A sign-on bonus of $10,000 is offered.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the Florida Board of Respiratory Care obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans and equipment. Monitor, record and communicate patient conditions. Perform advanced respiratory care modalities.
• Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcome.
• Educate the patient and family about the health condition and provide information about community support groups and other available programs.
• Respond to emergency resuscitation team code.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the Florida Board of Respiratory Care obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Previous pediatric experience.
