Job summary

Piedmont Walton Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join a high‑performing care team in a busy community hospital setting. The role covers ER, ICU, and Med‑Surg areas with responsibilities in mechanical ventilation, ABGs, oxygen therapy, EKGs, and patient education across age groups.

Applicants should hold an Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy and current licensure with RRT, plus BCLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications on hire. Prior neonatal care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy required.
• Previous neonatal respiratory care experience or completed orientation with competencies required.
• RRT certification and state licensure required on hire, basic life support, ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient assessments and both general and critical care respiratory procedures.
• Provides neonatal respiratory care in Labor and Delivery.
• Performs blood gas analysis and interpretation.
• Maintains and manages respiratory equipment and educates patients and families in adult and neonatal areas.

Responsibilities

Performs patient assessments, general and critical care respiratory care procedures, respiratory care for newborns in Labor and Delivery, blood gas analysis and interpretation, maintenance and management of equipment and patient and family education in both adult and neonatal areas.

Work Experience

• Previous Working Experience in Neonatal Respiratory care, or successful completion of department specific orientation including skills validation of competencies for the duties and responsibilities of this level Required
