Job summary

Piedmont Newton Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to perform patient assessments and respiratory care procedures in both adult and neonatal patients. Responsibilities include management of equipment and patient education in Neonatal and Labor & Delivery settings.

The role requires an Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy and multiple certifications (RRT, BCLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS) with clinical neonatal experience or orientation validated competencies.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy required.
• Minimum prior Neonatal Respiratory care experience or completion of orientation with validated competencies.
• Licensure and certifications required upon hire: RRT, BCLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient assessments and respiratory care procedures in adult and neonatal patients.
• Includes newborn respiratory care in Labor and Delivery and related education.
• Manages equipment and provides patient and family education.

Responsibilities

Performs patient assessments, general and critical care respiratory care procedures, respiratory care for newborns in Labor and Delivery, blood gas analysis and interpretation, maintenance and management of equipment and patient and family education in both adult and neonatal areas.

• Associate7s Degree in Respiratory Therapy Sciences Required

Work Experience

• Previous Working Experience in Neonatal Respiratory care, or successful completion of department specific orientation including skills validation of competencies for the duties and responsibilities of this level Required

Licenses and Certifications

• RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care and licensed by the State Board of Medical Examiners Upon Hire Required and
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and
• ACLS Upon Hire Required and
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Upon Hire Required
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support Required
