Job summary

Mercy is hiring a Respiratory Therapist to provide direct patient care in respiratory therapy, following physician orders. You will consult with physicians on therapy effectiveness and act as a resource for the care team.

The position offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus paid in four installments. It requires CoARC-approved RCP education, RCP licensure, and NBRC RRT certification; ACLS is preferred. Weekend/shift flexibility is common in a 36-hour weekly schedule.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of CoARC approved Respiratory Care program.
• Licensure: Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Certifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT); PALS for ER staff is required.
• Physical demands include lifting and moving up to 50 lbs., crawling and kneeling as needed.
• ACLS is preferred for this role.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care per physician orders.
• Consults physicians on effectiveness of therapy.
• Serves as an advanced resource for physicians and nursing staff in respiratory care.
• Performs duties as assigned by supervisor.
