Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to perform direct patient care under physician orders and consult on therapy effectiveness. You will act as a resource for physicians and nursing staff in respiratory care and perform duties as assigned.

Requirements include graduation from a CoARC-approved program, current RCP license, and NBRC RRT credential; ER staff may require PALS. ACLS is preferred; physical demands include lifting and movement as described.

Qualifications

• Graduate of CoARC approved Respiratory Care program.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• For ER, PALS is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care, according to physician's orders.
• Consults physicians on effectiveness of therapy.
• Acts as an advanced resource person for physicians and nursing on respiratory care.
• Performs duties as assigned.
