Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care according to physician orders. You will consult with physicians on therapy effectiveness and serve as a resource for nursing staff.

Qualifications include a CoARC-approved respiratory care program, current RCP license, and NBRC RRT credential. PALS may be required in ER; ACLS is preferred. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is available for eligible employees.

Qualifications

• Graduate of CoARC approved Respiratory Care program.
• Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the NBRC.
• PALS required for coworkers in Emergency Room if applicable.
• Physical demands include push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs; pinch up to 10 lbs; kneel, crouch, crawl. Equipment used: respiratory care devices.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care, according to physician's orders.
• Consults physicians on effectiveness of therapy.
• Acts as an advanced resource person for physicians and nursing on respiratory care.
• Performs duties as assigned.
