Job summary

Ascension Seton Highland Lakes in Burnet, TX seeks a Respiratory Therapist for Day Shift/PRN. You will deliver advanced respiratory care, evaluate patients, and lead modifications to treatment plans with real-time monitoring.

You will educate patients and families, participate in emergency resuscitation, and coordinate with community support programs to maximize recovery outcomes. This role sits in the Respiratory Care department.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire; accepted by AHA or ARC.
• Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed before hire; provisional accepted.
• NBRC Registered credentialed before hire date.

Responsibilities

• Develop tailored care plans based on patient diagnoses.
• Deliver advanced respiratory care and manage equipment.
• Monitor patient conditions and adjust treatments as needed.
• Educate patients and families and connect to community resources.
• Lead emergency resuscitation as part of the urgent response team.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Develop tailored care plans: Evaluate patients with respiratory insufficiencies to establish comprehensive, diagnosis-based treatment strategies.
• Deliver advanced respiratory care: Administer complex care modalities, manage specialized equipment and monitor real-time patient conditions to maximize recovery outcomes.
• Optimize clinical effectiveness: Continuously assess medication responses and treatment performance to adjust care plans based on individual patient progress.
• Empower patients and families: Educate patients and caregivers on managing their conditions while connecting them with vital community support programs.
• Lead emergency resuscitation: Respond swiftly to life-threatening resuscitation codes as a key member of the urgent response team.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Texas Respiratory Care Practitioners Certification Program obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Respiratory Care Practitioner provisional/temporary license will be accepted until license is issued.
• Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
