Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Respiratory Care professional for Nights/PRN shifts at Ascension Seton Williamson Hospital in Round Rock, TX. You will develop customized care plans, administer complex respiratory therapies, and monitor patient progress while collaborating with the urgent response team.

The role emphasizes educating patients and families, optimizing treatment outcomes, and participating in a supportive hospital culture under Ascension’s mission-driven framework.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).
• Texas Respiratory Care Practitioners Certification required before hire; provisional license accepted until issued.
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist credential required before hire.

Responsibilities

• Develop tailored care plans based on diagnosis to treat respiratory insufficiencies.
• Deliver advanced respiratory care and manage specialized equipment while monitoring patient conditions.
• Optimize treatment by assessing responses and adjusting plans based on progress.

• Lead emergency resuscitation as part of the urgent response team.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Develop tailored care plans: Evaluate patients with respiratory insufficiencies to establish comprehensive, diagnosis‑based treatment strategies.
• Deliver advanced respiratory care: Administer complex care modalities, manage specialized equipment and monitor real‑time patient conditions to maximize recovery outcomes.
• Optimize clinical effectiveness: Continuously assess medication responses and treatment performance to adjust care plans based on individual patient progress.
• Empower patients and families: Educate patients and caregivers on managing their conditions while connecting them with vital community support programs.
• Lead emergency resuscitation: Respond swiftly to life‑tensive resuscitation codes as a key member of the urgent response team.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Assurance or American Red Cross accepted.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Texas Respiratory Care Practitioners Certification Program obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Respiratory Care Practitioner provisional/temporary license will be accepted until license is issued.
• Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
