Job summary

Ascension is seeking an experienced RN for the Trauma Neuro ICU at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. The role involves managing neuro-critical care, hemodynamic monitoring, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to implement complex care plans.

The position requires Indiana RN licensure and BLS; ACLS preferred. Night shifts are 3x12 hours with rotating weekends, and comprehensive health coverage with retirement plans are provided.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• RN credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing before hire date.
• ACLS/Advanced Life Support preferred; AHA or Red Cross accepted.

Responsibilities

• Manage advanced neurological and hemodynamic monitoring systems (ICP/EVDs).
• Act as a critical thinker and first responder in high-acuity patient situations.
• Collaborate with Trauma Surgeons, Neurosurgeons, and Intensivists to execute complex care plans.
• Deliver life-sustaining treatments, including mechanical ventilation and vasoactive infusions.
• Provide empathetic family advocacy and education during critical diagnoses.

• Deliver life-sustaining treatments, including mechanical ventilation, vasoactive infusions, and advanced surgical recovery.


• Provide empathetic family advocacy and education during critical, life-altering diagnoses.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.


• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.


• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Additional Preferences

• One year of critical care experience.


• Acute adult inpatient experience strongly preferred.
