Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown in Nashville, TN is seeking a Registered Nurse for Telemetry on a night shift (full-time). You will lead compassionate nursing care, monitor patient status, and communicate with the care team to ensure safety and quality care.

The role requires TN RN licensure, BLS, and at least 6 months of acute care experience. You will coordinate discharge planning and collaborate with cardiology teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider required within 1 month of hire.
• Licensed RN credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or multi‑state Compact State recognition.

Responsibilities

• Lead compassionate, evidence-based nursing care, ensuring safety standards and protocols.
• Monitor and communicate real-time patient status to the care team for rapid decisions.
• Coordinate care across hospitalists, cardiologists, and NPs for high-quality patient experience.
• Execute clinical skills including cardiac drip titration and ACLS protocols for high-acuity patients.
• Manage the discharge process to ensure clear transitions for patients and families.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Lead the delivery of compassionate, evidence-based nursing care, ensuring every intervention aligns with the highest safety standards and organizational protocols.
• Monitor and communicate real-time patient status to the care team, enabling swift, life‑saving clinical decisions.
• Coordinate care efforts across multiple specialties, acting as the central hub between hospitalists, cardiologists, and NPs to provide a seamless, high‑quality patient experience.
• Execute advanced clinical skills, including cardiac drip titration and ACLS protocols, to provide expert‑level support for our most high‑acuity patients.
• Manage the full discharge process, ensuring patients and families transition from the unit with clarity and confidence.

What minimum qualifications you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi‑state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Additional Preferences:

• 6+ months of acute care nursing experience
