Job summary

SoftPath Medical is seeking a Cardiac Telemetry/Stepdown Nurse for the Cardiovascular Unit in Arlington, VA. This role focuses on cardiac telemetry, chest tubes, and dysrhythmia management for post-surgical cardiac patients on the CVSD/telemetry unit.

The position offers 3 shifts of 12 hours (nights), every other weekend, for a 13‑week contract with ASAP start depending on EPIC training schedules.

Qualifications

• Active VA or Compact Nursing License at time of application.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience.
• Strong cardiac telemetry/stepdown nursing skills with chest tubes and dysrhythmias.

Responsibilities

• Care for CV unit patients with cardiac telemetry/stepdown needs.
• Monitor telemetry and manage dysrhythmias.
• Assist with chest tubes and post-surgical cardiac patients.

Unit

CARDIOVASCULAR UNIT

CV STEPDOWN/TELE - This unit cares for cardiac surgery patients following ICU discharge. Seeking a skilled cardiac telemetry/stepdown nurse experienced in managing chest tubes and dysrhythmias.

Schedule

3 shifts of 12 hours each; nights; every other weekend

13 weeks

Start Date

ASAP (dependent on EPIC experience and training schedule)

Requirements

• Active VA or Compact Nursing License at time of application
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Strong cardiac telemetry/stepdown nursing skills with experience managing chest tubes and dysrhythmias
• Experience working with cardiovascular stepdown (CVSD) patients and telemetry monitoring

Additional Information

• COVID-19: Possible exposure
• Weekend shifts: Every other weekend
• EPIC Training: Clinical documentation class required, based on recent EPIC experience:
  • CLIN DOC ACCELERATED (for RNs with 6+ months EPIC experience in the past 12 months) – approximately 4 hours of modules
  • CLIN DOC 2 DAY (for RNs with less than 6 months EPIC experience in the past 12 months) – no modules required

Vaccine Information

• Flu vaccine is mandatory during flu season (October 1 – March 31)
