Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift in Ohio. Must have 3+ years of cardiac step-down experience and Epic EMR proficiency. Active OH license, BLS and ACLS required. Open-Heart care experience highly preferred.

The role covers Open Heart Recovery, Step Down and Telemetry, with 7p-7:30a shifts, every 3rd weekend, and occasional holiday coverage. No on-call typically.

Qualifications

• Active OH or compact RN license required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 3 years of cardiac step-down experience required.
• Experience with heart cath recovery, cardiac drips, and post-op open-heart patients required.
• Open-Heart care experience required.
• Epic EMR experience required.

Responsibilities

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting covering Open Heart Recovery, Step Down, and Telemetry Cardiac patients.
• Night shift schedule working 7p-7:30a.
• Typically works every 3rd weekend and covers 1 holiday, subject to change based on census and staffing.
• No on-call required, though rare call days may be requested during fluctuating census/staffing.
• May occasionally care for ventilated patients despite this not being a typical unit admission.
• Floating to other units may be required during low volumes or coverage needs.
• Uses Epic EMR.
• Care for a cardiac/med-surg step-down patient population including post-op open-heart and heart cath recovery cases.
• Comfort providing care to ventilated patients if needed is preferred.
• Returning travelers within 9 months may be eligible for alternate start dates.
