Job summary

AdventHealth South Overland Park is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) to provide comprehensive patient care during day shifts. You will assess patients, develop individualized care plans, administer medications, educate families, and collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize outcomes.

Qualifications

  • RN license is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate patients' physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
  • Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record. Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and interventions continuously, making necessary adjustments to improve patient health and achieve positive outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe healthcare environment.
