Job summary

AdventHealth South Overland Park is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Med Surg Unit. This full-time night shift role is located in Overland Park, Kansas.

You will conduct comprehensive assessments, develop and implement care plans, administer medications safely, educate patients and families, and collaborate with the care team. Minimum requirements include an Associate's Degree in Nursing, RN license, and BLS certification, with at least 1 year in acute care.

Qualifications

• RN license required and BLS certification.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher.
• 1+ year of acute care hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments across multiple domains.
• Develop and revise individualized care plans per standards.
• Administer medications and treatments safely per orders.

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record. * Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and interventions continuously, making necessary adjustments to improve patient health and achieve positive outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe healthcare environment.
