Job summary

AdventHealth South Overland Park is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Medical-Surgical Unit. This full-time night-shift position requires assessing patients, formulating care plans, and coordinating with the care team to ensure safe, effective treatment.

You will educate patients and families, administer meds, document care, and monitor outcomes while maintaining infection control and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with RN license required.
• BLS certification required.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients across physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural and spiritual factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans and regularly evaluate outcomes.
• Administer medications and treatments per orders and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments and self-care.
• Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate patient care and ensure effective communication.
• Document patient information accurately and timely in the medical record and assess care effectiveness.

• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record. * Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and interventions continuously, making necessary adjustments to improve patient health and achieve positive outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe healthcare environment.
