Job summary

AdventHealth South Overland Park is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Med Surg Unit on a Full Time Night shift. You will perform comprehensive assessments, implement care plans, administer medications, and educate patients and families. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team ensures high-quality care.

Requires an Associate's Degree in Nursing and an active RN license with BLS. The role emphasizes documentation, safety, and adherence to hospital standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Licensed registered nurse (RN) with active credentials.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
• 1+ year of acute care hospital experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders.
• Educate patients and families on conditions and self-care.

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record. * Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and interventions continuously, making necessary adjustments to improve patient health and achieve positive outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe healthcare environment.
