Job summary

North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, AL is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the PACU on full-time days. You will contribute to a fast-paced, collaborative perioperative team focused on safe, high-quality patient recovery.

Join a facility that emphasizes critical thinking, advanced technology, and professional growth while delivering compassionate care to diverse patient populations. This role requires an active RN license and an ADN; a BSN is preferred, with BLS mandatory and ACLS/PALS

Qualifications

  • Applicants should have a current state RN license.
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing is required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • ACLS and PALS preferred; Handle with Care preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
  • Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient.
  • Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record.
  • Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.

What we’re looking for:

Applicants should have a current state RN license. Additional requirements include:

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Basic Life Support required
  • ACLS, PALS, and Handle with Care preferred.
  • Experience preferred, but new grads welcomed to apply.

Schedule: Full Time- Days - 9:00AM- 9:00PM

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing required (current RN licensure accepted in lieu of degree); Bachelor's Degree preferred.

License: /Certifications: Current RN license in state of practice; BLS required; ACLS and PALS within 1 year of hire (PALS not required for Pain Clinic RNs).
