Job summary

North Alabama Medical Center is seeking a Progressive Care Unit registered nurse for night shifts. The PCU role emphasizes close monitoring, advanced nursing skills, and compassionate patient interaction within a collaborative care team.

Candidates must hold a current RN license with BLS; ACLS must be obtained within six months of hire. New grads are welcome to apply, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care and professional growth in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

  • RN license required to practice nursing.
  • Basic Life Support certification (BLS) required.
  • ACLS within six months of hire preferred or required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient assessments and identify patient needs.
  • Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Provide age-appropriate care based on patient condition and age.
  • Complete timely documentation in the medical record for medical necessity.
  • Maintain and revise Interdisciplinary Care Plans for each patient.
  • Conduct timely and accurate QA assessments.

  • Accurately performs patient assessments andidentifiespatient needs
  • Identifiesandinitiatesappropriate nursinginterventions
  • Provides careappropriate tocondition and age of the patient
  • Performstimelyandappropriate documentationrelating to medical necessity in the medical record
  • Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
  • PerformstimelyandaccurateQI assessments
Schedule: 3 x12 7:00PM- 7:00AM
What we're looking for:

Applicants should have a current state RN license. Additional requirements include:

  • Basic Life Support certification
  • ACLS are required within six months of hire.
