Job summary

North Alabama Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks a Registered Nurse for our 32‑bed Post‑Surgical unit in Florence, AL. This full‑time Days shift offers a 3x12 schedule (7am–7pm) with rotating weekends and a $10,000 sign‑on bonus for qualified applicants.

You will perform patient assessments, wound care, documentation, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support postoperative care and ensure high‑quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Alabama or compact state.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing is required; Bachelor's preferred.
• Basic Life Support required; ACLS/PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and records medical necessity.
• Performs postoperative assessments and wound care.
• Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality care.
• Maintains appropriate documentation and continuity of care.

More About Our Team

Our Post‑Surgical Medical‑Surgical Unit is a 32‑bed inpatient unit specializing in the care of patients recovering from general, orthopedic, and neurosurgical procedures. The unit also supports medical‑surgical overflow as needed. Nurses on this unit typically manage a 1:6 nurse‑to‑patient ratio, providing comprehensive postoperative monitoring, pain management, and coordinated interdisciplinary care.

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies medical surgical needs
• Performs post operative assessments
• Performs wound care
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Assists in multidisciplinary collaborations

What We’re Looking For

Applicants should have a current Alabama or compact state RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
• Basic Life Support required
• ACLS, PALS, and Handle with Care preferred
• Experience preferred, but new grads welcomed to apply.
