Job summary

UP Health System - Portage is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Coordinator for OB to join our team. This position is Full-Time (1.0 FTE) with 10 evening shifts (3p-11p), no weekends or holidays, and focuses on coordinating OB patient care.

You will lead care delivery, support performance improvement, and serve as a resource for staff on clinical standards. A Michigan RN license and OB experience are required, with leadership preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan RN license and associate degree in nursing.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• BLS-HCP and NRP certifications.
• Two years acute care experience with OB exposure.
• Leadership experience preferred.
• EFM, STABLE within 6 months; PEOP within 1 year.
• Annual influenza vaccination or declination required.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate care of OB patients using nursing process.
• Identify and resolve issues affecting delivery of clinical services.
• Perform PI studies and assist PI initiatives.
• Serve as resource to staff and external contacts on patient care and standards.
• Monitor compliance with accreditation, legal, and Joint Commission.
• Coordinate staff scheduling, education, and evaluations.
• Provide and coordinate patient education, particularly Labor and Delivery.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

How you'll contribute

• Provides and coordinates care of the OB patient using nursing process.
• Identifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of clinical services.
• Performs performance improvement studies and assists with implementation of PI initiatives.
• Serves as a resource to staff and external contacts on issues related to patient care, patient flow and clinical standards, policies and procedures.
• Monitors departmental compliance with applicable requirements, including accreditation, legal, and The Joint Commission.
• Coordinates staff scheduling, educational/development activities, and performance evaluations.
• Provides and coordinates patient educational needs, specifically to Labor and Delivery.
• Performs other job duties as assigned

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current Michigan RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's preferred). Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
• Two years of acute care experience
• OB experience
• Leadership experience (preferred)
• EFM, STABLE (within 6 months)
• PEOP (completed within 1 year)
• Annual influenza vaccination or declination required
