Job summary

UP Health System - Portage in Michigan is seeking an OB Director (RN) to lead a dedicated OB team and oversee labor and delivery services in a Level I Maternal Care and Nursery setting. You will drive quality outcomes, staff development, and clinical governance to ensure exceptional care close to home.

The role is full-time, salary-exempt, with a $5,000 sign-on bonus and relocation assistance for eligible applicants, plus a daytime schedule.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan RN license.
• Associate's degree from an accredited nursing program (bachelor's preferred).
• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP).
• NRP, AWHONN-EFM, AWHONN-POEP, STABLE (current or within 1 year).
• Annual influenza vaccination or declination required.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate care of the OB patient using nursing process.
• Identify and resolve issues affecting delivery of clinical services.
• Perform performance improvement studies and assist with PI initiatives.
• Serve as a resource to staff and external contacts on patient care and clinical standards.
• Monitor compliance with accreditation, legal, and The Joint Commission requirements.
• Coordinate staff scheduling, education, and performance evaluations.
• Provide and coordinate patient education, specifically Labor and Delivery.

How You\'ll Contribute

An OB RN Director who excels in this role:

• Provides and coordinates care of the OB patient using nursing process.
• Identifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of clinical services.

• Serves as a resource to staff and external contacts on issues related to patient care, patient flow and clinical standards, policies and procedures.
• Monitors departmental compliance with applicable requirements, including accreditation, legal, and The Joint Commission.
• Coordinates staff scheduling, educational/development activities, and performance evaluations.
• Provides and coordinates patient educational needs, specifically to Labor and Delivery.
• Performs other job duties as assigned

What We\'re Looking For

Applicants should have a current Michigan RN license and possess an associate\'s degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor\'s preferred).

Additional Requirements Include

• 4-years Labor and Delivery experience (preferred)
• 2-years leadership experience in healthcare (preferred)
• NRP, AWHONN-EFM, AWHONN-POEP, STABLE (current or within 1 year)
