Job summary

UP Health System - Marquette in Michigan is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Neuro/Ortho/Peds Unit. The role requires a current Michigan RN license and entails night shifts (7 p.m.‑7 a.m.) with a schedule of 6 x 12‑hour shifts, including rotating weekends and holidays. A sign-on bonus of $7,500 is available for qualified applicants.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN), Neuro/Ortho/Peds Unit

Job Type: Full-Time | 0.9 FTE or 72 hours per week

Schedule: 6 x 12‑hour shifts, night shifts (7 p.m.‑7 a.m.), rotating weekends and holidays

Sign‑On Bonus: $7,500 available to qualified applicants

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatment
• Documents patient care given
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient

Qualifications

• Current Michigan RN license
• Associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school (Bachelor’s preferred)
• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS‑HCP)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – within 1 year
• Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) – within 1 year
