Job summary

Lifepoint Health's UP Health System - Marquette is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Neuro/Ortho/Peds unit. This full-time role (0.9 FTE or 72 hours per pay period) features 6 x 12-hour night shifts, 7p-7a, with rotating weekends and holidays.

The 24-bed unit delivers neuro, ortho, and pediatric care with a collaborative team dedicated to high-quality acute care. A $7,500 sign-on bonus is available for qualified applicants.

Qualifications

• Must have a current Michigan RN license and an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's preferred).
• BLS Health Care Provider certification; PALS and ENPC within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care provided clearly and promptly.
• Monitors and communicates patient condition to care team, physician, patient and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living and personal care needs.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, transfers, discharges, and referrals.
• Provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, and condition.

More About Our Team

NOP is a 24-bed specialty med/surg unit. This unit sees a variety of neuro and ortho patients for scheduled procedures and trauma events as well as pediatric patients and is focused on providing quality acute care while promoting safety. The team is experienced and supportive of each other and often complimented by patients for their collaborative teamwork.

How You'll Contribute

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current Michigan RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's preferred).

• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (within 1 year)
• Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) (within 1 year)
