Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the General Surgery unit (3W) at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO. The role requires utilization of the nursing process to deliver patient care, with accountability and coordination with other departments.

The position is full-time (36 hours/week) with a night shift (7:00 pm–7:00 am). A BSN is preferred; an RN license in the hiring state or a compact license is required, along with BLS certification and at least 2 years of patient care experience.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of accredited nursing program.
• Licensure: Must hold an RN license in the hiring state or compact licensure.
• Certification: BLS certification required.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of patient care experience.
• Preferred: BSN degree.

Position Details:

Registered Nurse (RN) – General Surgery 3W

Location: Mercy Hospital South - 10010 Kennerly Rd, St. Louis, Missouri 63128

Schedule: Full-time | 36 hours/week

Shift: Days 7:00pm - 7:00am

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Licensure

• Responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure where nursing duties are performed.
• Must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Certification

• Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or completion within 30 days of hire.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of patient care experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Supervisor experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Prolonged standing and walking during shifts.
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
