Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) in General Surgery 3W at Mercy Hospital South, St. Louis, MO. The role supports patient care using the nursing process, ensuring confidentiality and patient rights while coordinating with other departments.

The ideal candidate will have a nursing degree, an active RN license (state or compact), BLS certification, and at least 2 years of patient care experience. BSN preferred. Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs and prolonged standing.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure where nursing duties are performed.
• BLS certification required (through American Heart Association) or must obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum of 2 years of patient care experience.

Position Details:

Registered Nurse (RN) – General Surgery 3W

Location: Mercy Hospital South - 10010 Kennerly Rd, St. Louis, Missouri 63128

Schedule: Full-time | 36 hours/week

Shift: Days 7:00pm - 7:00am

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Licensure

• Responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure where nursing duties are performed.
• Must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Certification

• Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or completion within 30 days of hire.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of patient care experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Supervisor experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Prolonged standing and walking during shifts.
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
