Job summary

Sovah Health - Martinsville is seeking a Registered Nurse for Med/Surg with day shifts. The role includes a mix of Med/Surg and telemetry patients, with a 12-hour schedule from 7A-7P and a 36-hour work week, every other weekend, in-person at Sovah Health - Martinsville.

Applicants should hold a VA or compact state license and an Associate’s degree in nursing; a Bachelor's degree is preferred. BLS certification and Meditech experience are valued attributes. Sign-on bonus eligibility is offered.

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
• Experience in clinical area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform plan of care interventions including meds and treatments.
• Document patient care and monitor condition; communicate with care team.
• Assist with activities of daily living and nutrition; ambulation.
• Coordinate patient care across transfers, discharges, referrals.
• Provide patient and family education.
• Advocate for patients' physical and emotional well-being.

• Meditech experience preferred

How you'll contribute

A Registered Nurse who excels in this role:

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
• Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.

The right person who will provide direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
