Job summary

Sovah Health - Martinsville is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Room mid shift (11 AM–11 PM). This full-time role requires 36 hours per week with every other weekend and offers a $20,000 sign-on bonus. The position pays an hourly range of $33.19–$44.81.

Applicants must hold an active Virginia RN license, have an Associate's degree in nursing (Bachelor's degree preferred), and obtain ACLS/PALS within one year; BLS is required. Prior acute care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living including hygiene, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers and discharges.
• Evaluates patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education.

How You'll Contribute

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.

• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.


• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.


• Evaluates patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.


• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.


• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have an active Virginia RN license (single-state) or compact license. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins. Associate's degree in nursing required.

Additional Requirements Include

• Bachelor's degree preferred


• American Heart Association Basic Life Support


• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - both required within one year of employment-ACLS & PALS


• Previous experience in acute care hospital setting preferred.
