Job summary

UP Health System - Marquette is seeking an RN Manager for the 54‑bed Medical and Surgical unit. This full‑time role supports mid‑shift, evenings, and 0.8 FTE scheduling, with a $10,000 sign‑on for eligible candidates.

The Clinical Manager will oversee plan of care, documentation, and interdisciplinary coordination to ensure quality patient outcomes in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Michigan RN license requirement.
  • Associate degree in nursing required; bachelor’s preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs plan of care interventions including medication administration and monitoring.
  • Documents patient care and communicates status to care team.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living and mobility.
  • Collaborates across disciplines for transfers, discharges and referrals.
  • Evaluates patient/family learning needs and provides education.
  • Advocates for patients’ physical and emotional well‑being.

More about our team

54 bed acute Medical and Surgical unit (3 wings with 18 beds each). We have good support from care aides to assist in patient care. Wide variety of patient conditions and interventions to hone skills and grow professionally. It's a fast-paced unit with admissions and discharges always happening throughout the shift.

How you will contribute
  • Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

What we are looking for

Applicants should have a state of Michigan RN license and possess an associate degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's degree preferred).

Additional requirements include:

  • Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
  • Two (2) years nursing experience
  • Seven (7) years managerial experience (preferred)
