Job summary

UP Health System Bell is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) in Med/Surg to join a patient‑centered care team. The role is full-time at 0.9 FTE with 12‑hour night shifts, offering a $7,500 sign‑on bonus based on eligibility.

Qualifications

• Michigan RN license required.
• Associate degree from an accredited nursing school; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• BLS Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) required.
• ACLS within 1 year.
• PALS within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments and related care.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records and communicates patient condition to care team, physician, patient and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living: personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines including transfers, discharges, referrals and psychosocial support.
• Assesses learning needs of patients and family and provides education appropriate to age, culture and condition.
• Advocates for patient physical and emotional well-being.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

How you will contribute

• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

What we are looking for

Applicants should have a state of Michigan RN license and possess an associate degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's degree preferred).

Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS‑HCP)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (within 1 year)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (within 1 year)
