Job summary

Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, ID is seeking a night-shift Labor & Delivery RN to provide direct care for antepartum, laboring, postpartum mothers and newborns in LD rooms, triage or OR. Nurse-to-patient ratio aligns with AWHONN guidelines.

Qualifications include ADN/BSN, Idaho RN license, BLS within 14 days, NRP, STABLE, ACLS within 1 year, and Fetal Heart Monitoring within 6 months; Preferred: 1 year L&D or related experience. This is a full-time role.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing program.
• Current Idaho RN licensure is required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer.
• NRP must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• STABLE certification must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• ACLS certification must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Fetal Heart Monitoring certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to antepartum, laboring, postpartum mothers and newborns.
• Care delivered in LD patient rooms, triage or operating room with 1-2 patients per guidance.
• Report to the LD charge nurse and coordinate with all providers and departments.
• Prioritize, delegate, deliver, evaluate and communicate care continuously.

Responsibilities:

• Labor and Delivery (LD) nurses are Registered Nurses (RN) who provide direct patient care to antepartum, laboring or post partum mothers, and newly born infants.
• This care is in the LD patient rooms, triage or operating room. Staff ratio is 1-2 patients according to AWHONN guidelines.
• The nurse reports to the LD charge nurse.
• LD RN organizes care delivery by prioritizing, delegating, delivering, evaluating and communicating with all necessary providers and ancillary departments on an ongoing basis.

Qualifications:

Job Requirements:

• Associate or Bachelors degree from an accredited school of nursing required.
• Current RN licensure in the state of Idaho.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Obtain NRP within six months of hire.
• Obtain STABLE certification within 1 year of hire.
• Obtain ACLS certification within 1 year of hire.
• Complete Fetal Heart Monitoring certification within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• At least one year of Labor & Delivery, Med Surg, or Post Partum or other experience
