Job Summary and Qualifications

• Assess health status and needs of patients and families through data interpretation and preventive practices, collaborating with healthcare teams.
• Provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care using a systematic approach.
• Perform comprehensive assessments and develop nursing care plans based on diagnoses and problems.
• Implement care within scope of practice, ensuring legal compliance.
• Educate patients on health promotion, maintenance, and restoration.
• Offer emotional support and age-specific care, fostering partnerships with patients and families.
• Manage care for multiple patients, delegating as appropriate.
• Evaluate responses and outcomes to interventions.
• Utilize critical thinking and current literature for clinical decision-making.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• BSN required within 24 months if hired after 6/1/12.
• Minimum two years of recent critical care hospital experience.
• Ability to care for PCU, Tele, and Med Surg patients as requested.
• Ability to assume Charge duties.
• Current RN license in Texas or a compact state.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
