Job Summary and Qualifications

• Assess health status and needs of patients and families through data interpretation and collaboration with healthcare teams.
• Provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care using a systematic approach.
• Perform comprehensive health assessments and formulate nursing care plans based on diagnoses and problems.
• Implement nursing care within scope of practice, including legal compliance, and develop patient education plans.
• Offer education, emotional support, and age-specific care to patients and families.
• Manage care for multiple patients, either directly or through delegation.
• Evaluate patient responses and outcomes to interventions.
• Use critical thinking and current literature to inform nursing practice.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• BSN required within 24 months if hired after 6/1/12.
• Minimum of two years' recent critical care hospital experience.
• Ability to care for PCU, Tele, and Med Surg patients.
• Ability to assume Charge duties as needed.
• Current RN license in Texas or a compact state, BLS, and ACLS certifications.
