Job Responsibilities and Qualifications

• Assess patients' health status and needs through data interpretation and collaboration with patients and healthcare team members.
• Provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care systematically.
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans based on diagnoses and problems.
• Implement nursing care within scope, complying with applicable laws.
• Create and deliver patient education plans for health promotion and restoration.
• Provide emotional support and age-specific care, fostering partnerships with patients and families.
• Care for multiple patients through direct care or delegation.
• Evaluate patient responses and outcomes to interventions.
• Use critical thinking to analyze clinical data and current literature for decision-making.

Qualifications Needed

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• BSN required within 24 months if hired after 6/1/12.
• Minimum two years' recent critical care hospital experience.
• Ability to care for PCU, Tele, and Med Surg patients.
• Ability to assume Charge duties as needed.
• Current RN license in Texas or a compact state.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification.
