• Assess patients’ health status and needs through data interpretation and collaboration with patients and healthcare team members.
• Provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care systematically.
• Perform comprehensive health assessments.
• Develop nursing care plans based on diagnoses and problems.
• Implement nursing care within scope and legal requirements.
• Educate patients on health promotion and restoration.
• Offer emotional support and age-specific care, fostering partnerships with patients and families.
• Manage care for multiple patients through direct care or delegation.
• Evaluate responses and outcomes of interventions.
• Use critical thinking for clinical decision-making based on data and literature.

Qualifications needed:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• If hired after 6/1/12, BSN required within 24 months.
• At least two years of recent critical care hospital experience.
• Ability to care for PCU, Tele, and Med Surg patients.
• Ability to assume Charge duties when required.
• Experience in assigned departments.
• Current RN license in Texas or a compact state.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
