Job Summary and Qualifications

• Assess health status and needs of patients and families through data interpretation and preventive practices in collaboration with healthcare team members.
• Provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care using a systematic approach.
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and formulate care plans based on diagnoses and problems.
• Implement nursing care within scope of practice, ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
• Develop and implement patient education plans for health promotion and maintenance.
• Provide emotional support and age-specific care, fostering partnerships with patients and families.
• Care for multiple patients through direct care or delegation.
• Evaluate patient responses and outcomes to interventions.
• Use critical thinking and current literature to inform nursing practice decisions.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
• BSN required within 24 months if hired after 6/1/12.
• Minimum of two years' recent critical care hospital experience.
• Ability to care for PCU, Tele, and Med Surg patients.
• Ability to assume Charge duties as needed.
• Current RN license in Texas or a compact state.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification.
