Job Summary and Qualifications

• Assess health status and needs through data interpretation and preventive practices, collaborating with patients and the healthcare team.
• Provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care using a systematic approach.
• Perform comprehensive assessments and formulate nursing care plans based on diagnoses and problems.
• Implement nursing care within scope and legal requirements, develop patient education plans, and provide emotional support.
• Care for multiple patients through direct care or delegation, evaluating responses and outcomes.
• Use critical thinking for clinical decision-making based on data and current literature.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• BSN required within 24 months if hired after 6/1/12.
• Minimum two years of recent critical care hospital experience.
• Ability to care for PCU, Tele, and Med Surg patients, and assume Charge duties when needed.
• Current RN license in Texas or a compact state, BLS, and ACLS certification.
