Sovah Danville is recruiting an Registered Nurse (RN) to support endoscopy procedures including EGD and Colonoscopy in a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio environment. The role requires timely call-ins within 30 minutes and availability for rotating call on weekends and some weekdays.

Formación

• Current RN Virginia State License or compact state license with Virginia endorsement.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsabilidades

• Performs plan of care interventions including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments and other care.
• Documents patient care and monitors patient condition with care team and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living and supports transfers, discharge and referrals as needed.
• Provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture and condition; advocates for patient wellbeing.

• Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD)
• Colonoscopy
• Sigmoidoscopy
• Bronchoscopy
• GI bleed procedures

The unit typically operates 1-2 procedure rooms several days per week out of the Operating Rooms, maintaining a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio to ensure high-quality, focused patient care.

How you will contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

What we are looking for

Applicants must have a current RN Virginia State License or compact state license with Virginia endorsement. Associate degree in nursing required. Additional requirements include:

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support
• American Heart Association ACLS within 6 months of hire
• Experience in acute care hospital, preferred
• Previous experience preferred
