Job summary

Sovah Danville is part of Lifepoint Health, and the Endoscopy unit seeks an experienced RN to join the team. You will perform care plans, administer medications, document care, and coordinate across the care team to ensure patient well-being and smooth procedures.

The unit uses a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio, handles a variety of GI and bronchoscopy procedures, and offers significant benefits and career growth opportunities within Lifepoint Health’s network.

Qualifications

• Current RN Virginia license or compact license with Virginia endorsement.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care accurately and timely.
• Monitors and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living and mobility needs.
• Coordinates transfer, discharge, referrals, and psychosocial support when needed.
• Provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, and condition.
• Acts as advocate for the patient’s physical and emotional well-being.

Schedule: 6:30-7:00 AM start time with rotating call (weekends and a few weekdays)

Call Requirement: Must be able to arrive within 30 minutes

Hourly range: $31.49 - $42.51

Must be able to meet a 30-minute Call Time

Our Endoscopy unit provides care for a wide range of procedures, including:

• Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD)
• Colonoscopy
• Sigmoidoscopy
• Bronchoscopy
• GI bleed procedures

The unit typically operates 1-2 procedure rooms several days per week out of the Operating Rooms, maintaining a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio to ensure high-quality, focused patient care.

How you will contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

What we are looking for

Applicants must have a current RN Virginia State License or compact state license with Virginia endorsement.Associate degree in nursing required.
