Job summary

Southern Tennessee Regional Health System – Pulaski is seeking an ER Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team on a PRN basis. The role offers self-scheduled preference requests, shift swaps, and the chance to participate in our new Emergency Department.

As an ER RN, you will provide direct patient care, administer medications, document care, and collaborate with the care team to support patients and families in a fast-paced environment. TN license required or compact state with Tennessee paperwork.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in nursing required.
• Licensure as RN in Tennessee or Compact State with Tennessee paperwork within 30 days.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP; STABLE within 90 days; TNCC/ENPC preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process.
• Administer medications, collect specimens, and perform treatments.
• Document care and monitor patient condition for the team, physician, patient and family.
• Assist with activities of daily living and patient mobility.
• Coordinate care with the team, including transfers, discharges and referrals.
• Educate patients and families respecting age, culture, and circumstances.
• Advocate for the patient's physical and emotional well-being.

Registered Nurse (RN) Emergency Department (ER) PRN

Job Type: PRN | Night

Schedule: 2x12 per 6 weeks; 2 weekend shifts per quarter; 2 holidays per year

About the Role

Southern Tennessee Regional Health System – Pulaski provides emergency care and we are looking for an ER RN to join our team on a PRN basis. The position offers self-scheduled preference requests, flexibility to swap shifts, and the opportunity to be part of our new Emergency Department.

How you'll contribute

• Provides direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.

What we're looking for

• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE within 90 days of hire; HWC within 6 months of hire. TNCC preferred, ENPC preferred.
• Required Skills: Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision, and to perform in a stressful environment.
• Licenses: Licensed Registered Nurse with the State of Tennessee or a licensed RN from a Compact State with proper Tennessee paperwork filed within 30 days of hire.
• Education: Associate's degree required; BSN preferred.
