Job summary

MetroHealth Main Campus Emergency Department in Cleveland, OH is seeking an experienced RN for PRN shifts in a Level 1 Trauma Center. The role involves patient assessment, triage, trauma care, IV insertion, blood draws, and Foley catheter care, with emphasis on time management and critical thinking in a fast-paced environment.

Required qualifications include Ohio RN licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and TNCC or within 1 year of hire; NIHSS certification is preferred. PRN experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS
• Current PALS
• Current TNCC certification or obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Current NIHSS Stroke certification
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience

Primary Patient Population:

• Acutely ill pediatric to adult patients
• Level 1 Trauma Center

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• Patient Assessments
• Patient Triage
• Trauma care
• IV insertion, blood draws, Foley catheter insertion
• Time management, critical thinking, delegating

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Paramedics, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Behavioral Observers (BO), Providers

Number of beds on unit:

• 93 beds (Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) included)
• 10 Trauma Bays
• 80k+ patient visits annually

Awards or Recognitions the unit has received:

• Level 1 Trauma Center
• Lantern Award
• Stroke Certified
