Job summary

The MetroHealth System in Cleveland, OH is seeking an experienced RN for the Neuro Critical Care Unit (6 West). You will perform detailed neurological assessments, monitor intracranial pressure, titrate medications, and manage patient ventilators and CRRT in a high-acuity ICU setting.

Qualifications include an Ohio RN license, BLS and ACLS, with PRN requiring 1 year of RN experience. The unit collaborates with PCNAs, providers, respiratory therapy and therapies to deliver top-tier patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current Ohio RN license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required or obtained within 90 days/6 months.
• PRN requires 1 year of RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed neurological assessments.
• Monitor ICP and titration of medications.
• Manage surgical drains, mechanical ventilators, body temperature, and CRRT.

Shift: 7p-7a; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population

• Adult
• Ischemic/Hemorrhagic Strokes
• Status Epilepticus
• Encephalitis
• Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
• Intracranial Hemorrhage

Primary Skills Utilized/learned

• Detailed Neurological assessments
• ICP Monitoring
• Medication titration
• Managing surgical drains, mechanical ventilators, body temperature, & CRRT

Personnel RN Will Work With

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire
