Job summary

MetroHealth in Cleveland, Ohio is seeking an RN for the Acute Care Adult Medical Specialty Unit (9 East) on the Night shift (7p–7a) with rotating weekends/holidays. The unit features telemetry and 34 beds, focused on complex medical disorders.

Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with Ohio RN licensure and BLS certification, with at least 1 year of RN experience for PRN. BSN preferred; benefits include tuition reimbursement and certification incentives.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing; Ohio RN licensure.
• Current BLS for healthcare providers certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience; required certifications upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care on the Night shift (7p–7a) in 9 East.
• Administer IVs, draw blood, manage catheter care and tracheostomy/NG care.
• Monitor telemetry and respond to patient needs with critical thinking.
• Collaborate with LPNs, PCNAs, providers, PT/OT, and WOCN.
• Demonstrate time management and appropriate delegation.

Location: MetroHealth Main Campus- Glick Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00 Shift: Nights 7p-7a; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays ***Up to $10,000 sign on bonus for RNs with qualifying experience***

Primary Patient Population:

• Variety of complex medical disorders


• Telemetry

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• IV placement, blood draws, foley catheter insertion/removal


• Tracheostomy care, NG placement, PEG tube, various drains, wound care


• Time management, critical thinking, delegating

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, PT/OT, WOCN

Number of beds on unit:

• 34 beds (14 private rooms, 10 semi-private rooms)

Required Qualifications:

• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio

• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire
