Job summary

MetroHealth is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse for the Recovery Room/PACU at the Main Campus. The role involves caring for pediatric through adult patients in the immediate post-operative period, with a focus on airway management, hemodynamic stability, pain control, and wound assessment.

Candidates must hold an Ohio RN license and current certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS). PRN roles require 1 year of RN experience and ongoing certification upkeep.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing or a program seeking accreditation.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Current ACLS and PALS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience.
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient airway.
• Assess hemodynamic stability and support.
• Monitor sedation, neurological, neuromuscular, and sensory motor status.
• Provision of adequate pain and comfort measures.
• Assess wound/incision integrity.
• Overall patient assessment.

Bi-weekly Hours: 64.00

Shift: Rotating Shifts; Rotating holidays, Call Requirement

Primary Patient Population:

• Pediatric through Adult
• Immediate post-operative period

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• Maintain patient airway
• Assess hemodynamic stability and support
• Monitor sedation, neurological, neuromuscular, and sensory motor status
• Provision of adequate pain and comfort measures
• Assess Wound/incision integrity
• Overall patient assessment

Personnel RN will work with:

• OR/ ED/Inpatient RNs, Pre/Post Phase 2 staff, Anesthesia staff, Surgeons, PT, Radiology, Pharmacy

Number of OR Suites/Cases:

• 26 beds (Bay platform)
• 40-50 surgical cases daily
